SOURCE: SPIROMICS Study of Early COPD Progression is looking for people who have never smoked cigarettes, people who are current cigarette smokers, and people who are former cigarette smokers between 30 and 55 years old to participate in a research study on early signs of lung disease. Most studies of lung disease and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) involve older people. This 5-year study at 14 sites across the U.S. will help us better understand COPD in younger people. You do not need a COPD diagnosis to join.

The SOURCE study’s focus on the early development of COPD and comprehensive, longitudinal assessment of future participants offers a unique opportunity to answer many important questions related to the pathogenesis of COPD. I will be honored and happy to contribute to a successful study build up.
